“This is aromatically similar to the straight Meursault villages but with more prominent floral nuances. The solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract and excellent richness to the palate coating and nicely powerful finish. This appealingly textured effort is quite tightly wound and will need time in bottle to fully mature. *Outstanding*” 90-92 points Allen Meadows – Burghound

Domaine Ramonet is undoubtedly regarded as one of the finest producers in the Côte de Beaune and, whilst best known for their incredible Premiers and Grand Crus Chardonnays from Chassagne-Montrachet, they also make superb Aligoté from the village of Bouzeron, which is located just 5km away. The 2016 is a lovely wine from an appellation devoted to this oft-underrated variety, leaping from the glass with delicious scents of white apple flesh, spring flowers and toasty oak. Medium- to full-bodied, it is sleek and supple, with bright acidity, ample mid palate concentration and a long, mineral finish.

The Chambolle-Musigny Villages is produced from a tiny parcel of vines in the southwest portion of the commune and also includes some declassified 1er Cru fruit from Les Baudes and Fuées. From the excellent 2018 vintage, this is surprisingly fruit-laden, juicy and fresh yet has classical Vogüé firmness and youthful rusticity to the finish.

Light, orange-tinted amber in colour. Grahams 30 Year Old Tawny Port has a magnificent nose showing an array of dried fruits. A matured, concentrated palate with full honeyed fruit. Gorgeously mellow, with an amazing, long finish Fabulous accompaniment to dark chocolate but can also be enjoyed alone, as a dessert in its own right – it is indeed an experience in itself.

Following vinification courses in California and Oregon, Cyril joined his parents (Marie-Françoise & Charles) at the family estate in the early 2000s. Thus, the fifth generation enriched the know-how with an international vision. The Charles Audoin estate covers 15 hectares, including 14 hectares in the Marsannay appellation. These come in…

This micro-domain of 2.8ha only established in the heart of Meursault was constituted in 1929 from a plot of meursault 1er cru Les Cras. The wines rest in a cellar of the thirteenth century. A domaine that it is now important to follow as the quality of its wines increased in power. In 2017 the Cuvée Meursault 1er Cru les Cras presents a beautiful fat, with a beautiful tension, a magnificent wine and typical of the terroir, perfect value for money.

….absolutely no heaviness, indeed the acid support is such that this remains impeccably well-balanced on the hugely long and palate staining finish…. Burghound.com/ Tasted: Oct 15, 2014

Jean-Claude Ramonet’s 2015 Montrachet Grand Cru is exquisite, wafting from the glass with a youthful bouquet of lime, lemon pith, toasted nuts, pastry cream and fresh mint. On the palate, the wine combines the amplitude and texture of the Bâtard with the incisiveness and energy of the Chevalier, its glossy, multidimensional attack followed by a deep, limpid mid-palate and a long, penetrating finish. 2020 – 2040. The only Grand Cru white wine of Côte de Nuits… It is its famous red clay soil less calcareous than in its neighbours that gives the Musigny wines their legendary elegance. The Comte Georges de Vogüé estate has 7.2 hectares of the 10.77 hectares of the grand cru. As authorized by the decree of the appellation, he cultivates on 0.66 hectares chardonnay to produce the mythical white Musigny. He is thus the only producer of the only grand cru blanc de côte de Nuits. White musigny is a unique chardonnay, which is like no other. It has the material and concentration of the great whites of Beaune and the mineral power of the great windfalls. An absolute myth.

The Musigny from Domaine Georges Roumier is one of the most rare mythical wines from Burgundy. With an annual production of around 350 bottles per year it often reaches stratospheric prices on the secondary market rivalling some of the most expensive bottles from DRC.

92pts  – A fine effort, the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon wafts from the glass with notes of white flowers, crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh pastry and blanched almonds. Medium to full-bodied, bright and precise, it’s elegant and fine-boned, with—as I observed last year—none of the blockiness of yesteryear’s Clavoillon. The wine advocate
