98points …Deep garnet with hint of brick, the 2005 Mouton Rothschild is evolving into unabashed, flamboyant notes of Christmas cake, plum preserves, chocolate-covered cherries, eucalyptus and crème de cassis with beautifully fragrant wafts of potpourri, incense, Indian spices and cigar box. Full-bodied, the palate performs vinous pirouettes with dazzling exotic spice, floral and earthy nuances, framed by firm, grainy tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing very long and mineral laced. 2019 – 2055 ( Lisa Perrotti-Brown 31st Oct 2019

The 2009 La Tâche Grand Cru is still a decade away from the plenitude of maturity, but it’s already a head-turning wine, soaring from the glass with an extravagant bouquet of rose petal, Asian spices, grilled meats, rock salt, espresso roast, rich soil tones, plums and dark chocolate. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, ample and richly structured around fine-grained chalky tannins, with a deep and multidimensional core and succulent underlying acids, concluding with a long, fragrant finish. This is an utterly classic La Tâche that ranks among the vintage’s high points. RP 98pts (Reviewed by William Kelley Issue Date 28th Dec 2018)

Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. Up to a third of the blend can be reserve wines and as a consequence the Brut Premier is a true encapsulation of the Roederer style, marrying sumptuous fruit and youthful freshness with the vinosity and depth of mature wines.

  • The attack reveals an aromatic intensity with a remarkable fullness and the smooth, sweet flavours of white flowers, red fruits, caramel, and Tarte Tatin. The full, round, and refined texture in the initial attack, which is characteristic of the Louis Roederer Champagne House, is complemented by a winey—though not full-bodied—structure and a remarkable freshness, giving an impression of great finesse and strengthening the wine’s precision.

Jean-Claude Ramonet’s 2015 Montrachet Grand Cru is exquisite, wafting from the glass with a youthful bouquet of lime, lemon pith, toasted nuts, pastry cream and fresh mint. On the palate, the wine combines the amplitude and texture of the Bâtard with the incisiveness and energy of the Chevalier, its glossy, multidimensional attack followed by a deep, limpid mid-palate and a long, penetrating finish. 2020 – 2040.
